Method
- Dice onion and bell pepper, and mince the garlic. Prepare all ingredients before heating the skillet for a smoother cooking process.
- Heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté diced onions for 3–4 minutes until translucent and fragrant.
- Add garlic and diced bell pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to build the aromatic base.
- Add ground beef, breaking it apart. Brown for 6–8 minutes until no longer pink and deeply caramelized.
- Stir in tomato paste, paprika, oregano, cumin, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and optional bay leaf. Cook for 1 minute to blend flavors.
- Pour in broth, bring to a simmer, reduce heat, and cover. Cook for 12–15 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve.
Notes
For meal prep, double the batch and portion into containers. Ground beef pairs well with pasta, rice, or tortillas. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure proper browning. Add veggies late to maintain texture. Freeze up to 3 months with 1-inch headspace. Reheat with a splash of broth to restore moisture.
